Taipei, Taiwan Day 4

Tuesday, December 26, 2017

Unfortunately, Christmas is over, but at least, the holidays are still here. Today was another fun day. I showed my parents the Maokong Gondola the previous day, and convinced them to try it. So here we are, trying the Maokong Gondola from the Taipei Zoo to Maokong.

Speaking of zoos, I really miss the San Diego Zoo, my favorite zoo exhibit ever being their panda exhibit. Those passionate pandas there are really cute and adorable.

Anyway, back to the agenda today. We took the MRT to the Taipei Zoo and then hopped onto the Gondola. The Gondola was pretty smooth.

After riding the gondola, we explored the Maokong area, which includes tons of food stores and a crowded road. I heard from my mom that there are a lot of snakes in Taiwan. I am really afraid of snakes and any dangerous reptile there is out there. Phew. Good thing I did not run into any snakes.u

After walking around Maokong, I really wanted to go see more of the mountain area, but everyone else in my family wanted to head back down to the zoo and the MRT, so we ended up heading back and onto the SOGO store at Zhongxiao Fuxing.

We then ended up going to my favorite restaurant in Asia, Din Tai Fung. I really love their Xiao Long  Bao (小籠包) and their fried rice. This restaurant also has several locations near home, including Los Angeles, Orange County, and more in the U.S., near my temp. home, San Jose, and up in the Pacific Northwest in Seattle. My favorite Din Tai Fung in the U.S. is the one at the South Coast Plaza, my favorite indoor mall in the world, off the 405 Freeway at the Bristol Street exit in Costa Mesa. Here’s some of our food from yesterday dinner.
